Dr. Bamidele Wale-Oshinowo

Bamidele Wale-Oshinowo obtained her PhD in Management from Royal Holloway, University of London. She is currently a lecturer at the Department of Business Administration, University of Lagos. Her teaching and research areas are in the broad areas of Management, Entrepreneurship and Strategy. More specifically, she focuses on Micro and Small businesses (MSMEs), Female Entrepreneurship, Family Businesses, Organisational Performance, Firm Culture, and Strategic Orientations of businesses using both Individual and Firm Level analyses in different research contexts in developing economies.She has published in the fields of management, entrepreneurship and family business in both national and international academic journals, and has also attended and delivered papers at academic conferences in the Europe and Nigeria.

Bamidele acted as a co-proponent in the Family Business Track at the 2017 Annual EURAM Conference held in the United Kingdom; and was one of the key Discussants at the 12th Annual Global Business Symposium held at University of Cork, Ireland in 2017. She is a certified professional trainer with Centre for Management Development (CMD) and certified lecturer for Enterprise Systems Education for Africa (ESEFA) in SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (SAP-ERP). She has also been invited to give talks at non-academic conferences and seminars; one of which was the International Women’s Day, held in Ogun State, Nigeria (2017); and also served as one of the judges at the recently concluded 2018/2019 Nigerian Risks Award.

Bamidele has facilitated trainings in several organisations, both in the private and public sectors cutting across diverse industries. She is actively involved with the industry, consulting for companies in areas such as succession planning, capacity building, and entrepreneurial skills development. She is a member of the following professional institutions: British Academy of Management (BAM); African Academy of Management (AFAM), The Academy of Management Nigeria (TAMN), Nigerian Institute of Management ‘Chartered’ (NIM) and National Institute of Marketing Nigeria (NIMN).

Bamidele is the Track Lead for Family Business & Gender Entrepreneurship at the ARUA Centre of Excellence for Unemployment & Skills Development, AEDUP, University of Lagos.Leisurely, she engages mostly in community projects and programmes that addresses youth and women empowerment.
